Weiman Disinfectant Granite & Stone Clean & Shine is a pH-balanced cleaner for natural stone with a disinfectant built in. It cleans, kills bacteria and leaves a shine, in one pass rather than three products.

The reason that combination exists is the kitchen. A counter where raw chicken, fish and pork are handled needs more than a surface wipe, and the usual answer to that is bleach, which is exactly what you must not use on stone.

Weiman solves the problem the way stone allows. You get the hygiene without stripping the sealer or dulling the polish, which is what bleach and antibacterial sprays do over time.

Use it on granite, marble and travertine. For engineered quartz, use Quartz Clean & Shine instead, which is formulated for a resin surface.

Why Does a Stone Counter Need Disinfecting?

Because the surface is porous, and the usual answer damages it.

Raw food on a porous surface

Chicken, fish and pork are handled directly on the counter in most Filipino kitchens. On a sealed granite the liquid sits on the surface, but a wipe with water alone moves bacteria around rather than killing it.

Bleach is the wrong tool

Bleach and antibacterial sprays strip sealer, dull polish and, on marble and travertine, etch the surface outright. They solve the hygiene problem and create a permanent one.

Unsealed stone is the real risk

If the sealer has worn through, liquid soaks in and no surface cleaner reaches what has been absorbed. Run the water test: leave a few drops of water on an inconspicuous spot for 15 minutes, and if the stone darkens it needs sealing before hygiene is even discussed.

Cutting boards still matter

No cleaner removes the need for a board. Cutting on stone blunts knives, scores sealer and puts raw food into contact with the surface unnecessarily. Use a board and this bottle becomes a backstop rather than the whole defense.

How Do You Use Weiman Clean & Shine?

Clear the Surface First

Wipe away crumbs and food debris before spraying. A disinfectant works on the surface it can reach, and anything sitting on top shields what is underneath.

Spray and Let It Dwell

Disinfectants need contact time to work, which is the step almost everyone skips. Spray, leave it for the period stated on the bottle, and do not wipe it straight off.

Wipe and Buff Dry

Wipe with a clean cloth, then buff with a dry microfiber to bring the shine up and avoid streaks. Work in sections on a long run so nothing dries before you reach it.

Can You Use Bleach on Stone?

No. It is the most common way people ruin a counter.

No. Bleach strips impregnating sealer out of the pores, which leaves a porous stone open to the next oil or wine spill. The counter looks fine on the day and stains a month later.

On marble, travertine and onyx it is worse. Those are calcium carbonate, so bleach and acidic bathroom sprays etch the surface, leaving dull patches that no cleaner reverses.

The same applies to oven cleaner, descaler and most heavy-duty kitchen sprays. If a bottle does not say it is safe for natural stone, assume it is not.

Vinegar deserves its own warning. It is the go-to natural cleaner in a great many households, and it is acid, so on marble, travertine and onyx it etches the surface on contact.

A stone-safe disinfectant exists precisely so you do not have to make this trade. You get the hygiene and keep the sealer.

Should You Buy This or the Granite Polish?

This one, for most kitchens. The polish, for a dull counter.

Buy this one if your counter is in good condition and the kitchen handles raw food. It cleans, disinfects and shines in one pass at ₱1,500, which covers ordinary daily use.

It Does Not Seal

No cleaner protects a porous stone. If the water test shows the counter absorbing, it needs a sealer regardless of how thoroughly you clean it.

It Does Not Lift a Stain

A stain has soaked into the stone, so a surface cleaner cannot reach it. Stains need a poultice drawing them back out, and the branch can advise which one.

It Does Not Undo Etching

Acid damage on marble or travertine is physical, not residue. Minor etches buff out with marble polishing powder; nothing you spray will reverse them.
