Why Choose Gray Honda Granite

Hot Pots and Pans Will Not Scorch It No resin binder to scorch, so a pan straight off the burner will not burn the surface the way it would engineered quartz.
The Practical Gray Dark enough to swallow food and crumbs, light enough that it shows dust less than a true black.
Undercuts Our Pale Grays ₱3,100 per sqm, below Caesar White at 3,300, with the same heat tolerance and outdoor durability.
Quarried, Not Manufactured Cut from a single block rather than mixed in a factory, so every slab carries the geology of the place it came from.

What Is Gray Honda Granite (G654 Light)?

A dense charcoal grain, fine and completely even.

Gray Honda is a Chinese granite in a mid to dark charcoal, made up of a very fine, tightly packed grain of gray, black and pale mineral. The grain is small enough that from standing height the slab reads as a solid gray surface. Gray Honda is also traded under the quarry code G654 (Light). Black Impala is the same quarry material in its darker grade, sold as G654 (Dark).

It is the dark end of our gray range. Caesar White and Salt and Pepper are pale grays on a white ground; this is the opposite, and the choice when you want gray to anchor a room rather than lighten it.

There is no direction to the grain, so slabs can be laid whichever way suits the room, which gives us more freedom when we match the seam.

At ₱3,100 per square meter it undercuts Caesar White, though Salt and Pepper stays the cheaper option, and unlike engineered quartz it will take a hot pan straight off the burner without scorching.

How Do You Clean Gray Honda Granite?

Three habits, and a dark surface keeps its depth.

1

Always Keep the Surface Dry

A dark polished surface shows dried water marks and limescale more than a pale one. Wipe with a damp cloth, then a dry one, and the counter reads clean rather than streaked.

2

Use Only Granite Cleaner

Bleach and acidic bathroom sprays strip the sealer and shorten the interval before you have to redo it. A pH-neutral stone cleaner lifts grease without touching the seal underneath.

3

Never Scour It

Steel wool, scouring pads and abrasive powders scuff the polish permanently. A plastic scraper lifts anything dried on without leaving a mark.

We stock specially-formulated stone care products at every branch, including the sealers this stone actually needs, so you are not guessing in a supermarket aisle.

How Do You Care for Gray Honda Granite?

One seal, the occasional check, and one thing never to do.

1

Seal It on Installation

The counter should be sealed once it is in and the dust has settled. We do this as part of installation, and it determines how the stone behaves for years afterwards.

2

Reseal as Needed

Put a few drops of water on an inconspicuous part of the counter and leave them 15 minutes. Check once or twice a year, and any time you notice the stone darkening where liquid has been sitting. If it darkens, reseal—a wipe-on, wipe-off job that takes an evening.

3

Never Sit or Stand on It

Granite is hard but not flexible, and an unsupported overhang can crack under body weight. Pull up a step stool rather than climbing onto the counter.

Is Gray Honda Granite Good for Kitchen Countertops?

Yes, and it handles heat in a way quartz cannot.

Yes. Granite is a silicate stone, so acid does not etch it. Lemon juice, vinegar and wine leave the polish intact where they would dull a marble within seconds.

Heat is where it pulls clearly ahead of engineered quartz. A pan lifted straight off the burner will not scorch it, because there is no resin binder to burn. Trivets remain good practice against thermal shock, but a moment of carelessness will not ruin the counter.

Mid-dark gray is a practical middle. Food, crumbs and cooking marks disappear against it, while it shows dust and dried water less than a true black would. Of the grays we carry, this is the one that copes best with heavy daily use.

Sealing is the real obligation, covered below. Being dark does not exempt this stone, and skipping it is how an oil spill becomes a permanent patch.

Does Gray Honda Granite Need Sealing?

Yes, and being dark makes no difference.

Yes. Gray Honda is porous enough that oil and wine can seep into the stone and leave a darker patch. Sealed, it repels both and behaves like any other easy kitchen surface.

Color predicts nothing here. Absolute Black and Black Galaxy are darker than this and need no sealer at all, while Marigold is light brown and also needs none. The only reliable method is to check the specific stone.

In practice this means one application at installation and a water test once or twice a year afterwards. That is the whole commitment, and it is the price of a natural stone that takes a hot pan without flinching.

Gray Honda vs Our Other Gray Surfaces

Four grays, separated by tone and material.

Gray Honda is the dark natural gray

A fine dense charcoal grain at ₱3,100 per sqm. Choose it to anchor a room, and when you want a stone that takes heat.

Caesar White is the same idea, inverted

Caesar White is a fine cool flecking on a bright white ground at ₱3,300 per sqm. Same clean even grain, opposite end of the tonal range, and it lifts a dark room where this one grounds a light one.

Salt and Pepper is the cheapest gray

Salt and Pepper is a warmer, busier pale gray at ₱2,600 per sqm. The budget option if tone matters less to you than price.

Nimbus quartz is the engineered version

Nimbus gives a similar flecked charcoal at ₱6,000 per sqm, manufactured so every slab matches and needing no sealing. It will scorch under a hot pan, which this stone will not.

What Colors Go With Gray Honda Granite?

A grounding counter that lets the room above it lift.

Mid-dark gray is a true neutral with no warmth to work around, so it sits under almost any cabinetry color without a clash.

White and off-white cabinetry give the sharpest contrast, and the fine grain keeps the join from looking as stark as a solid black counter would.

Timber softens it. Oak and light walnut against charcoal reads warm rather than severe, which usually suits a home better than an all-gray scheme.

The trap is going dark above and below. Charcoal counters under navy or dark gray cabinetry close a room down fast, particularly in a small condo kitchen. If the cabinetry is already dark, Caesar White does the same job in reverse. For hardware, chrome and brushed nickel follow the gray, while brass adds warmth.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Gray Honda granite need sealing?

Yes, and being a dark stone makes no difference. It is porous enough that oil and red wine can penetrate and leave a darker patch. Seal it on installation, then test once or twice a year with a few drops of water on an inconspicuous spot and reseal only when the stone darkens underneath.

How is it different from Caesar White or Salt and Pepper?

Tone. All three are evenly grained grays, but Gray Honda is a mid-dark charcoal while the other two sit on a white ground. This one grounds a room; they lighten it. Gray Honda is also ₱3,100 per sqm against ₱3,300 for Caesar White and ₱2,600 for Salt and Pepper.

Can you put a hot pan on Gray Honda granite?

Yes. There is no resin binder to scorch, so a pan straight off the burner will not burn or discolor the surface. A trivet is still worth using, because any stone can crack if the temperature change is sudden and extreme. Trivets are still sensible to avoid thermal shock on a cold slab, but this is the material’s real advantage over engineered quartz.

Does a dark counter show dust and fingerprints?

Some, though less than a solid black would. The fine grain breaks up smudges and dried water marks, so this sits between a pale stone and a true black on how often it wants wiping.

Does Gray Honda granite stain?

Unsealed, yes. Cooking oil is the usual culprit and it leaves a darker patch that can take weeks to lift with a poultice. Sealed and maintained, it behaves like any other easy kitchen surface.

Does it etch like marble?

No. Granite is silicate-based rather than calcium carbonate, so acid does not eat into the polish. Lemon juice, vinegar and wine leave the surface intact where they would dull a marble almost immediately.

Can Gray Honda granite be used outdoors?

Yes. Unlike engineered quartz, granite holds its color under Philippine sun, so it suits lanai counters, outdoor kitchens and pool-side surfaces. Test it more frequently outdoors, since a seal exposed to sun and rain gives up sooner than one kept under a roof.

Where can you buy Gray Honda granite in the Philippines?

Stone Depot offers Gray Honda granite at branches in Cebu, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo and Laguna. Stock moves between locations, so availability varies.

Dark slabs are worth seeing in person, because lighting changes how deep the gray reads. All branches are open Monday to Saturday, 8 AM to 5 PM, and you are welcome to visit or contact any branch.
