A countertop is the horizontal work surface fitted over kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, and bars. In the Philippines it is most often cut from granite, marble, or quartz and installed as fitted pieces sized to your space.

The material you choose decides how the surface handles heat, stains, and daily use. It is usually the largest single decision in a kitchen renovation, and the hardest one to change later.

Countertop material starts at ₱2,600 per square meter for granite, ₱5,700 for engineered quartz. Marble is indent order and quoted per project.

Fabrication and installation each start at ₱500 per linear meter, and cut-outs start at ₱500 per set.

The final figure depends on the design you choose, the edge profile, and the rest of your specifications.

If you cook a lot, choose granite. It handles heat, so a pan straight off the burner will not scorch it, and it is the more affordable of the two.

If you would rather not think about maintenance, choose quartz. It resists stains, never needs sealing, and holds a uniform color across the whole counter, though you will want trivets since the resin is heat-sensitive.

Planning an outdoor counter? Granite is the one that lasts, because quartz can yellow under UV.

Wipe it with a cleaner made specifically for stone after each use. It takes seconds and keeps your countertop looking the way it did on day one.

Soap and water feels harmless, but the residue builds up and dulls the polish over time. Skip vinegar, bleach, and anything abrasive, since these strip the sealer.

We stock stone sealers and specially-formulated cleaners at every branch, so pick one up when you collect your slab.

Use a stone-safe disinfectant, or wipe the surface with 70% isopropyl alcohol and let it sit for a few minutes before wiping it dry.

Avoid bleach and undiluted household disinfectants. They kill germs, but they also break down the sealer, and an unsealed countertop absorbs stains far more readily.

It depends on the material. All marble benefits from sealing, as often as every six months on a kitchen counter. For granite it depends on the individual stone rather than its color: some, like Absolute Black, Black Galaxy, and Tan Brown, typically never need it, and engineered quartz never needs sealing at all.

To check whether yours is due, use the water blot test on an inconspicuous area: leave a few drops of water for 15 minutes, and if the stone darkens, then it’s time to reseal.

Buying from a slabyard rather than a showroom photo matters, because no two natural slabs are identical. Drop by and check the actual material before you commit.

If it is the seamless look you are after, engineered quartz gets you closest.

There is no minimum for the granite and quartz held at our slabyards. Marble, onyx and travertine are indent order.
